Kelly Bailey's experience led a young Mandurah Magic women's outfit to their second win of the West Coast Classic campaign as they ran riot over a struggling East Perth Eagles outfit on Saturday evening.
Bailey poured in 19 points, seven rebounds, five assists and five steals on her way to a stunning stat line in the 83-31 drubbing, with her efficient shooting from two-point range giving the Magic an edge.
Olivia Bassett-Scarfe also continued to impress, with the rising star compiling 13 points and six rebounds from 23 minutes.
Rachel Pettit gave a well-rounded effort with 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists, while Sierraleone Simpson pitched in nine points to go with three rebounds and three assists.
The Magic women were dominant from start to finish in the victory, as they put the clamps on the Eagles.
East Perth managed just one quarter where they were able to score in double figures, posting 11 points in the fourth.
Outside of that is was tough going for the visitors, as their hosts started hot.
By the end of the first the Magic already led by 13 points, and that ballooned out to a stunning 35 by half time.
Still, they refused to let up, as they piled an extra 14 points onto their lead in the third quarter before finishing strong to claim the 52-point victory in front of the home crowd.
The thrashing of East Perth will provide a welcome confidence boost for the Magic's young women's outfit, which suffered a 25-point loss against Willetton the night before.
Mandurah started their first game of the weekend in style ending the first quarter with a one-point buffer over the Tigers, but being outscored 40-20 across the next two periods saw them fall too far back.
In the end it was a 75-50 loss, as the Magic struggled to find the bottom of the basket shooting at just 26 per cent for the match.
Captain Rachel Halleen did find a way to be productive, however, as she put together a strong individual performance.
The skipper was a force in just 18 minutes of game time, pouring in 14 points to go with a couple of steals in an efficient cameo.
Splitting results the Magic women now sit in seventh place with a 2-2 record.
They will look to improve their place in the standings this coming weekend, as they take on the ninth-placed Perry Lakes Hawks in what looms as a gutsy contest.
The clash kicks off at the Bendat Basketball Centre this coming Saturday night, with tip off scheduled for 6pm.
