The Mandurah Magic men claimed their first win of the West Coast Classic season over the weekend, taking down the East Perth Eagles in an thrilling contest on Saturday night.
Tom Atkinson was outstanding for the second straight weekend, compiling a staggering stat line with 25 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and four steals while shooting 56 per cent from the field.
His play was the catalyst for the Magic's 94-90 victory, which came in overtime after Atkinson scored with 10 seconds on the clock to tie scores up at the end of the fourth.
The two sides battled out a gritty overtime period, but late free throws from Atkinson and Josh Hunt capped off the win.
Hunt was outstanding himself with 21 points, seven rebounds and three assists himself, while young gun Riley Parker continued to show his positive progression with 11 points and seven assists.
Aaron Kearing also put up numbers, notching 19 points and eight rebounds.
The win came as a timely one, with the Magic having suffered their third straight loss in an 80-72 defeat to Willetton the night prior.
The Magic has been competitive in all of their games this season, and now sits in 11th with a 1-3 record.
They will look to collect another win when they return to the court to face Perry Lakes this coming weekend.
That clash kicks off at the Bendat Basketball Centre on Saturday night, 8pm.
