Supercars teams are stuck at the Queensland border crossing awaiting permission to have their transporters cross into the Northern Territory.
The transporters are at a truck stop in Camooweal, 10km from the border and need to travel another 1400km to get to their destination in Darwin.
It is understood the Supercars teams have not been given instructions to enter the Northern Territory yet following last week's NT government declaration of Brisbane City, Logan, and Ipswich as COVID hotspots.
The entire Supercars field shifted to south-east Queensland following the Sydney SuperSprint event on July 18-19 after a similar declaration for several NSW suburbs was made by the NT government.
Supercars personnel, drivers, and teams were supposed to leave Brisbane for Darwin on chartered flights on Monday but have been delayed two days with discussions ongoing between Supercars and the Northern Territory Government.
The Virgin Australia Supercars Championship is set to host back-to-back rounds at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin on August 15-16.
