There are just days left to make a difference.
Time is running out to submit a nomination for the 2021 Australian of the Year Awards - nominations will close on Friday, July 31, 2020.
The awards rely on the public to submit nominations for people who should be recognised each year.
It only takes one nomination for a person to the considered in the Awards, but an official nomination must be submitted online.
There are four award categories:
- Australian of the Year
- Senior Australian of the Year
- Young Australian of the Year
- Australia's Local Hero
National Australia Day Council chief executive officer Karlie Brand urged people to nominate now.
"This is your last chance to have your say on who should be the 2021 Australian of the Year, Senior Australian of the Year, Young Australian of the Year and Australia's Local Hero," Ms Brand said.
"Everyone has an opinion on who should get the award, but now is the time to express that opinion by submitting a nomination.
"If there's someone you admire or someone whose contributions and achievements are inspiring, get online now and tell us about them.
"You don't have to know them personally, you just need to tell us basic information about who they are and what they've done.
"When we announce the 2021 Australian of the Year on 25 January, it may well be someone you nominated."
