A new op shop cafe has opened in central Mandurah to support a charity that works with women and children in distress.
WA Mums Cottage volunteers were looking for a reliable income stream to support the charity on the heels of COVID-19.
The Cottage Cafe and Op Shop came into being at 25 Davey St in Mandurah.
Incorporated into the cafe op shop is an IT centre for those people who need access to the internet or need to do emails and don't have the personal resource or ability.
WA Mums Cottage chair Kaye Seeber said it would also operate as a workplace training place to upskill people for the workforce.
The Cottage Cafe is a social enterprise that was made possible with the generosity of John and Bella Perry Foundation, Rotary Club of Mandurah Wishing Well and Lotterywest. Five Senses Coffee has also been generous in its support.
WA Mums Cottage is a a drop in centre for women and children suffering distress in their domestic situation. The resource and support centre is supported by community donations. WA Mums Cottage has been operating for nearly four years. It is funded by the generous support of the local community. It is located in central Mandurah and is open Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 2.30pm. Visits by guests are welcome anytime without appointments.
