The Grasshopper Soccer program starting soon in the Peel region aims to help young children learn the skills of the game in a fun, supportive and non-competitive environment.
Grasshopper Soccer has six new locations opening for term 3 from Rockingham to Halls Head for boys and girls 2-12 years of age.
The focus will be on providing the right social environment to ensure good sportsmanship, fair play, skill advancement, social interactions and enjoyment as well as physical and mental development.
The importance of it being a non-competitive program is that children are able to develop their skills without the pressure of winning or losing.
Children will be supported by coaches and parents who would be invited to be involved by participating in the training and encouraging the kids to "have a go."
The Grasshopper Soccer program also focuses on encouraging children in the community of any ability to play outdoors, get active, builds confidence and inspire them to love sport from a young age.
