Raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation is a mission close to the heart for Kathryn Norris as her mum, Lynda has been battling breast cancer since December last year.
"She has been undergoing chemotherapy and targeted treatments over the last few months and also had extensive surgery on her neck to remove cancerous tumours in her cervical spine," Kathryn said.
"Despite all this, her positivity and sense of humour shines through."
Using her love of golf, Kathryn is raising funds by challenging herself and other players to shoot a team score of 27 under par over 18 holes at the Cut Golf Course on Sunday.
On the day, Kathryn will be joined by US LPGA major winner Hannah Green, professionals Jarryd Felton and Braden Becker, and WA's top male amateurs Hayden Hopewell and Haydn Barron.
"My mum is my inspiration and the reason behind this fundraising event," she said.
"I can't think of a better way of using my love of golf to raise awareness and give something back - I want to raise as much money as I can."

Kathryn is urging residents to come to the fundraising event to support the team as they try and achieve their goal.
"Get behind us as we test our skills to raise money for breast cancer by challenging ourselves to shoot a team score of 27 under par over 18 holes," she said.
