Peel residents have raised concerns of 'revenue raising' after speed limits were reverted back to 80km/h at several traffic light intersections along Pinjarra and Mandurah Road after the long weekend.
According to Main Roads WA spokesman Dean Roberts, a number of speed limits in the Peel region were reduced to 70km/h to comply with new speed zoning rules on June 26.
This caused frustration among Peel residents with 82 per cent of voters on a poll by the Mandurah Mail calling for change of speed limit signs to be installed.

With hundreds of Peel residents frustrated with the prior changes, many are now calling for answers as the speed limits were reverted back to 80km/h last week.
"Revenue raising stunt! Let's change the speed limit and not indicate it to anyone with signage," Mandurah Mail reader Aaron Vogel commented.
"I don't care if it's 70km/h or 80km/h, just pick one and make it the entire length of the road. It's a joke," Peel resident Jezza Lenco said about the changes.
The change back to 80km/h is not permanent as Main Roads WA says it plans to reduce the speed limit to 70km/h to comply with its speed zoning policy in the coming months.
The speed limit is expected to be permanently reduced to 70km/h at the following intersections:
- Pinjarra Road and South Yunderup Road
- Pinjarra Road and the Kwinana Freeway Off-ramps
- Pinjarra Road and Husband Road
- Mandurah Road and Meadow Springs Drive
- Mandurah Road and Lord Hobart Drive/Broadstone Vista
- Mandurah Road and Lake Valley Drive
- Mandurah Road and Madora Beach Road/Banksiadale Gate
- Kwinana Freeway off-ramps to Forrest Highway
Peel residents are also being asked to be wary of speed limits on Fiegert Road.
With no speed limit signage on Fiegert Road many locals were under the impression the speed was 110km/h.
According to the WA police, if speed signs are not displayed in built up areas the default speed limit of 50km/h is in effect.
