Update 5am Monday: A 50-year-old Hillman man, who was driving the Landcruiser, has been charged with two counts of manslaughter, fail to render assistance after incident occasioning death, and fail to report incident occasioning death.
His bail was refused and he will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on 1 June, 2020.
The investigation is ongoing and investigators would still like to speak with anyone who saw the crash, may have seen either vehicle driving in the vicinity of the crash, or have dash camera footage in the area.
Friday: Major Crash officers are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Cooloongup on Friday night.
Around 7:40pm on May 29, a white Toyota Landcruiser was travelling north-west on Ennis Avenue, Cooloongup.
The Landcruiser collided with a beige Nissan Micra that was turning right into Grange Drive from Ennis Avenue.
The driver of the Nissan, a 27-year-old woman from Success was taken to Rockingham Hospital, but died a short time later. The passenger of the Nissan, a 27-year-old woman from Cooloongup died at the scene.
The driver of the Landcruiser, a man in his 50s, allegedly failed to stop and was arrested a short distance away from the crash. The man was taken to Royal Perth Hospital and is assisting police with their inquiries.
A male passenger of the Landcruiser, not believed to be injured, was not located at the scene and investigators would like to speak with him to assist with their inquiries.
Major Crash investigators would like to speak to anyone who saw the crash, or was in the vicinity around the time of the crash who has dash-cam/CCTV vision to come forward.
