Mandurah Mail reader Karen Barnes said she was captivated by the reflection in the high tides.
"Although it was devastating knowing how much damage had occurred, I was captivated by this scene," she said.
"The floodwaters were like a mirror and the little bit of sunshine made it seem almost tranquil."
This tranquility is not expected to last as the Bureau of Meteorology anticipates a cold front will bring up to 20mm of rain on Thursday, before intensifying into a storm Friday that could see a further 30mm dumped on the city.
