While the closure of venues is having a devastating impact on the music industry, Peel duo, Best Friends are creating something positive out of a difficult situation.
In an effort to make the elderly stuck in isolation smile, Thane and Andrea Mandin performed live on Facebook for Mandurah Seniors and Community Centre members on Monday.
One half of the Best Friends duo, Thane Mandin said their motive was to bring joy to seniors who haven't been able to attend activities for several months.
"Staff at the centre have been teaching online lessons to their members on how to use Facebook so we gave them a concert to put what they had learnt into practice," he said.
"Our motive was to spread a little ray of sunshine during isolation.
"It brought happiness to many of the seniors as they haven't been able to participate in regular activities normally held at the centre."
The concert, which also involved dancers, was well-received with 1800 views and over 40 comments expressing how great it was.
The duo even had international viewers with one lady from Idaho commenting, "I'm enjoying your concert as well as seeing more people around".
"It was very successful and well received particularly by some of the elderly that are pretty much stuck at home," Mr Mandin said.
"We had a lot of people comment saying how much they enjoyed it and people were sharing it with anyone and everyone they know."

With further COVID-19 restrictions expected to lift in the near future, Best Friends are now planning on performing a live concert at the Mandurah Seniors and Community Centre once 100 people are allowed.
