Aftermath of accidental Lake Clifton fire | PHOTOS

Five hectares of private property backing onto the Lake Clifton were burnt in an accidental fire yesterday.

Today only some smoldering remains and sheep have returned to grazing in the adjacent paddock.

Twenty volunteer and professional firefighters were at the scene.

The bushfire emergency warning was put in place for people west of Old Coast Road between Preston Beach Road and Old Bunbury Road yesterday after the fire started on Newnham Road in Lake Clifton.

Residents were warned to leave as the fire threatened lives and homes.

Residents were given the all clear this morning.
