Mandurah's Make Place has always been an office space with a difference - somewhere for curious minds to connect, focus and work.
And now, amid the challenges and chaos of the COVID-19 pandemic, the co-working hub in the heart of Mandurah is continuing to grow with a new partnership.
Earlier this month, Make Place teamed up with Spacecubed to activate their community of entrepreneurs, startups and small business owners.
Founded in 2012, Spacecubed is Western Australia's largest innovation hub with two locations and more than 3000 active members.
Their activation in collaboration with Make Place will facilitate stronger connections with industry, government and businesses and allow members greater access to a range of events, programs and opportunities.
Spacecubed head of strategic projects, Ophelie Cutier, said the partnership would bring big and exciting changes to Make Place.
"There are such great networking opportunities and it makes access to learning even easier," she said.
"At Spacecubed, we rent desks and also develop and run a range of programs to help entrepreneurs. We try to provide that space but also the tools for people who want to expand their business, change careers or launch a startup."
Through the partnership a new virtual online platform will be established designed for accessible and flexible learning and collecting.
The online community will also become an exclusive space for Make Place and Spacecubed members to find and host events, make new connections and build relationships.
Members will also be able to post their wins and share content and resources with one another in an effort to activate community, events, programs and workspaces for small local businesses.
Ms Cutier said the collaboration between Make Place and Spacecubed had been planned for months but had to be adapted a little to meet new COVID-19 restrictions.
"We're still trying to go ahead and just focus on the online community and content and then we will continue on when the space reopens hopefully soon," she said.
"The Mandurah team has a really good base to work with and super active members - it reminds me of how Spacecubed was when it started eight years ago.
"But how do we make that even bigger and connect them even better? We will work with them to help grow the community and expand and integrate into our network."
