Falcons gun Brad Holmes had his stellar Peel Cricket Association season honoured as he was named the 2019/20 Swarbrick medalist as the competition's most valuable player on Wednesday.
The South Mandurah star tallied 20 votes to top the leaderboard for this year's top honour, ahead of Pinjarra's Jamie Lee who landed in second with 17 and Mandurah's Matt Jenkinson on 14.
Holmes was exceptional across the campaign, leading his Falcons to a finals berth with a stunning set of performances with both the bat and ball.
With the blade he was a model of consistency, tallying eight half-centuries across his 15 games to finish the year with an average of 46, topping the PCA in both batting average and aggregate.
He opened the season with a 40-run performance in a clash against Warnbro, and kept that form going through rounds four and five where he tallied back-to-back 50s.
But it was in the later stage of the year that Holmes peaked with the bat.
Round 16 ignited an outstanding four-game run for the Falcons opener, as he carved out 76 runs against a strong Baldivis bowling attack.
Two weeks later Holmes compiled 86 against Waroona, followed by 84 in his side's semi final loss to Baldivis.
He was also able to showcase his ability with the ball, taking 14 wickets across the season, including a staggering 3/7 day against Waroona in round nine.
Other A-grade awards handed out saw Mitch Brown (Baldivis) and Corey Tregenza (South Mandurah) share the bowling aggregate, while Waroona's Dan Abel took 23 wickets at a stunning 7.96 to lead the category's average.
The Peel Cricket Association also announced their team of the year via Facebook, with all aforementioned award winners earning a spot.
Holmes paired with Halls Head star Josh Rudge to open the batting, while minor Pinjarra were well represented with four players in Alex Roberts, Jamie Lee, Jordan Hodgetts and Joseph Slade all making the cut.
Mitchell Shellam (Singleton), Grant Pilling (Baldivis) and Tim Hutchison (Singleton) also made the squad.
Meanwhile Chris Martin took home the honours as the PCA's umpire of the year.
The award is decided by the votes of captains during the season, assessment by the umpires coordinator and performances outside the PCA competition such as Senior Country Week.
