Two elderly residents of a Lakelands retirement village are among the growing tally of Western Australian people who have tested positive for COVID-19.
The couple, who live at Lattitude Lakelands, north of Mandurah, returned from overseas on March 17 and have been in isolation since that time, except for attending the COVID-19 clinic at Fiona Stanley Hospital for testing.
A spokesperson for Peet, which manages the village, said they were continually in contact with the duo to offer help.
Prior to the event, Peet proactively closed the Clubhouse, bowling green and swimming pool at Lattitude Lakelands on Friday, March 13 while it undertook a risk assessment of the facility and review of operations.
On March 19, Peet confirmed with residents these facilities would remain closed for the foreseeable future, pending weekly reviews.
The Mandurah Mail earlier this week reported of a Halls Head childcare worker who had contracted the virus while overseas and and also put themselves into isolation on returning to WA.
A five-month-old baby is among 24 new COVID-19 positive cases in WA overnight, bringing the state's total up to 255 on Friday.
