A 24-year-old Mandurah man has been charged with a string of offences after he allegedly assaulted three people, including two elderly women, in the early hours of Sunday, March 8.
Just after 12.30am, one of the victims, a man in his 30s, was a passenger in his own vehicle being driven by a man known to him.
The two men exited the vehicle in a car park at the intersection of Old Coast Road and Mary Street in Halls Head.
It will be alleged a physical altercation occurred between the men resulting in the victim falling and striking his head on the ground.
The accused dragged the victim towards the vehicle, repeatedly attempting to place the victim into the boot and dropping him several times onto the car park ground.
After his attempts were unsuccessful, it will be further alleged the accused left the victim in the car park unresponsive and drove away in a reckless manner.
The victim was located several hours later, still unresponsive, by a member of the public and conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital by St John Ambulance.
He underwent emergency surgery and remains in a serious but stable condition.
Less than an hour later, around 1.20am, a woman in her 60s approached a man who had been driving a vehicle on Doonda Street in Mandurah.
The accused began yelling at the victim, as well as another female neighbour also in her 60s.
It will be alleged the man approached the two women and assaulted them both by striking them to their heads, causing them to fall to the ground.
It will be further alleged the man then kicked the women once they fell to the ground before leaving the scene.
As a result of the assaults, both women lost consciousness and received significant facial injuries.
It will be further alleged the man attended a service station a short time later and purchased cigarettes using a debit card belonging the male victim from earlier.
The 24-year-old man was arrested by Mandurah Detectives later on Sunday.
He has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm with a circumstance of aggravation, one count of aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of grievous bodily harm.
He has also been charged with fraud, stealing a motor vehicle, reckless driving, no authority to drive (suspended) and two counts of possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property.
He is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today. More information as it comes to hand.
