Incidents believed to be linked
Police were called to Lynda Street in Falcon in the early hours of March 3, where a man in his 30's was assaulted and had property stolen. He sustained injuries to his leg.
Just hours later, about 3.20am, police were called to the intersection of Lynda Street and Rakoa Street after reports a woman had been struck by a silver car and it had driven off without stopping. She is undergoing surgery in Royal Perth Hospital for serious leg injuries.
The two incidents are believed to be linked.
Media conference on Wednesday
Detective Sergeant Kris McDonald spoke to media in Falcon on Wednesday afternoon at the scene of an abandoned vehicle believed to have been used the hit and run.
"We've identified a suspect that we'd like to speak to, however we are maintaining an open mind in the investigation," he said.
"We've been able to establish a timeline... and a vehicle that we believe was involved in the incident. We're investigating a linked stolen motor vehicle."
Detective Sergeant McDonald said both victims of the assaults had been helping police with their enquiries.
'Don't approach'
At the time he added that he believed this was not a random attack and there was "no risk to the community."
However, members of the public are now being advised not to approach Mr Jenkins.
Anyone who sees him is asked to call police immediately on 131 444.
