Local community groups around Mandurah are gearing up to celebrate women worldwide with a number of International Women's Day events in the Peel region this weekend.
Sunday, March 8 will mark a call to action for accelerating gender equality and recognising the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
As part of the day, women are being invited to come together for an afternoon of self-care and nurture at a mini retreat in Pinjarra.
Held at the Pinjarra Civic Centre from 2pm, the event will include a range of fun activities and techniques to make self-care a priority.
After a special session of laughter yoga led by Keeta Rutherford, international guest speakers will share their own inspiring stories.
Fearless Women's Circle's Carolyne and Linda will then lead a sound healing and guided meditation followed by a yoga session for nervous system resilience from Rochelle Jolley.
Participants will then be treated to a selection of mouth-watering goodies and live music.
There will be plenty of exciting door prizes up for grabs, including vouchers for Jarra Infusion.
