It is sure to be a magical evening under the stars when Opera at the Mill returns to the historic timber town of Jarrahdale this weekend.
After the success of last year's event, West Australian Opera artists Naomi Johns, Sam Roberts-Smith, Fiona Campbell and John Longmuir will again serenade patrons on Saturday, March 7.
The world-class singers, led by conductor Christopher Van Tuinen, promise a night to remember in a town with rich history of opera.
Back in 1885, The Opera Bouffe Company paid two visits to Jarrahdale, before returning in January 1886.
Between them, the four artists have years of experience and countless shows, awards and scholarships in the Australian opera scene.
Soprano, Naomi Johns, has performed with Opera Australia and The Australian Ballet, as well as state and regional companies, and now works for the West Australian Opera on a regular basis after returning to Perth in 2015.
Baritone, Sam Roberts-Smith is a graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, a multi-award winner and is internationally recognised as one of the most talented performers of his generation.
Award-winning Mezzo Soprano, Fiona Campbell, sings regularly as a principal artist with all of the major ensembles and orchestras in Australia including Opera Australia, Opera Queensland and WA Opera.
Originally from Scotland, John Longmuir has become one of Australia's most acclaimed young tenors with plenty of competition wins since he joined the Opera Australia young artist program and in 2019.
Opera at the Mill will take to the stage at the Jarrahdale Heritage Mill on March 7 from 7.40pm.
