Sunday, March 8 marks a very special day on the calendar - International Women's Day.
Plenty of local community groups around Mandurah are gearing up to celebrate women worldwide with a number of events in the Peel region.
The women behind the Zonta Club of Peel sub-committee will once again host Mandurah's pioneer annual International Women's Day forum.
Back for 2020, the impressive day will kick off at 11.30am at David Grays Arena, with a drink and meal on arrival.
Guests will be joined by Bonnie Davies - the face behind Famous Sharron, who will talk about the challenges she overcame to pursue her comedic and corporate careers.
Ms Davies is the chief executive of The Gelo Company and an award-winning producer and comedian.
The event is also an opportunity to recognise exceptional women in the Peel region with a number of awards, including the fourth annual Young Woman of Peel award.
Former president of the Zonta Club of Peel, Lorraine Webb, said the event promised plenty of fun and inspiration.
"The day is about recognising the achievements of women worldwide and the progress that we've made in all aspects of society," she said.
"We're all there for the same reasons and it's very empowering."
President elect Nicky Hooper echoed her friend's sentiments.
"It's a celebration of all the women in our community, and it's a lot of fun," she said.
The event is open to everyone, not just ladies, and tickets are $45 per person.
