Mandurah's Zali Corry enjoyed a successful day on the Yallingup Reef picking up some strong results at the WA Longboard and Logger Titles over the weekend.
The young gun was in great form for the traditional surfing event, carving her way to first place in the under 18s category before finishing an impressive second in the open women's.
Corry ended her open women's campaign with a score of 17.97, enough to lock down the runner-up spot behind hometown hero Crystal Wallace and ahead of Dunsborough's Shae Sheridan.
Also doing Mandurah proud was Frank Gray, who fresh off an impressive WA Masters Titles event secured first in the over 55 men's division and second in the over 60 men's.
To round out the good results for the Peel region Brendan Collins was able to nab a pair of podium finishes by claiming fourth place in both the over 40 and over 45 men's divisions.
Surfing WA events manager Justin Majeks said the tournament paid homage to the traditional form of surfing.
"Longboarding is such an important part of the fabric of surfing's history and it was so good to see how well everyone competed no matter their age or gender," he said.
"We're delighted with the outcome of this event, as well as the levels of stoke and encouragement on offer for the past three days."
