The Mandurah community came out in droves to welcome the country's newest citizens on Australia Day, with hundreds attending the annual ceremony on the city's eastern foreshore.
Stories and backdrops from across the globe made more a multicultural welcome to our nation, with several families and individuals reciting the words of Mandurah mayor Rhys Williams and taking the pledge to become citizens.

While honouring our incoming neighbours, the ceremony also took the chance to shine the spotlight on the groups and individuals making a difference throughout the Peel region with the presentations of the annual citizenship awards.
Those volunteering their time to help make Mandurah are better place were bought into the frame and honoured for their contribution.
Stay tuned to the Mandurah Mail for more on the awards.
