Mandurah Detectives have charged a 50-year-old Pinjarra man as a result of their investigation into an assault that occurred in Mandurah last week.
The incident, which police allege took place about 5.10pm on Wednesday, January 8, resulted in a 53-year-old man being conveyed by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital with serious head injuries.
Police say the man assaulted the victim outside Mandurah Post Office on Sholl Street.
It is further alleged during the altercation the man punched the victim, which caused him to fall backwards onto the road, hitting his head on the curb, rendering him unconscious.
The 50-year-old man has been charged with Grievous Bodily Harm and will appear before the Mandurah Magistrates Court on 31 January.
