Madora Bay locals have shown an overwhelming display support for our nation's firies, compiling care packs for those hard at work battling the blazes.
The initiative has been spearheaded by resident Louise Carey, who put a call out on Facebook last Sunday after being moved by the hard work of Operation Angels, a humanitarian service delivering supplies for those affected by the fires.
Mrs Carey originally expected "just a couple of neighbours" to donate to the collection box outside her home, but was blown away when almost 100 care packs came flooding in from around the suburb.
"Someone is knocking on my door or dropping something in the donation box every half hour. It's absolutely amazing," she said.
"It actually brought a tear to my eye to see the generosity of this little seaside community, pitching in to help another that's on the other side of the county."
Care packs consist of personal hygiene items like deodorant, soap, eye drops, hand wash etc. that are then shipped to the firefighters to use while they attempt to contain the infernos.
Children from the suburb have also written notes and illustrated drawings to go with them.
The success of Operation Angels has been so vast in the eastern states the organisation is now calling on public donations like that of Mrs Carey and the Madora Bay community to continue distributing to those on the front line.
But Mrs Carey is now on the lookout for a transport or courier company to help ship the care packs interstate.
"Operation Angels have told us the care packs would be put to good use at Kangaroo Island, but without the help of a transport business we can't get them there," she said.
"We're hoping someone will be able to dig deep and help us out because it's such a wonderful thing everyone has contributed to."
If you or anyone you know can help transport the care packs to those who need them, call Louise Carey on 0400 489 936.
