The Mandurah Southern Districts Bushfire Brigade is pitching in to help those affected by blazes across the country with a pair of fundraisers to be held later this month.
The brigade has been sending resources to help battle different fires sweeping through the state in recent weeks, and now they will be getting together to drum up donations to help fund recovery efforts as well.
Their fundraising efforts kick off at the Lazy Crab Tavern, with the pub hosting a live music drive on Saturday, January 18 from 6-9pm with entry costing of a gold coin donation with a raffle also set to help raise much needed funds.
They will continue on at Jerramungup Park the following day with a morning tea event kicking off at 9am, with the brigade to carry out demonstrations for children.
Mandurah Southern Districts Bushfire Brigade secretary Pam Bennett said it was crucial to help out fellow Australians in need.
"We're a small brigade but when so many people are struggling you do what you can," she said.
"No doubt they would do the same for us."
Prior to Christmas was a relatively busy period for the local brigade, as they provided crews to battle blazes in Collie, Nambeelup and Lake Clifton.
They've also pitched in as far away as Albany and Balladonia.
"It's important for us to be able to help out our fellow brigades," Ms Bennett said.
"We're lucky that our local residents here are very fire conscious, so whenever we can get out in the field and help other crews we will."
