John Tonkin College congratulated their year 12 students in the Class of 2019 last month at a special Valedictory ceremony.
Staff, family and friends gathered at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre on November 19 to send their well wishes to graduating students.
Emcees of the evening, associate principals Donna Heath and Che Heeley, gave a warm welcome before George Walley gave the Welcome to Country.
Entertainment was provided by music students Meghan Simmonds who sung 'Laterns' and the National Anthem, and Tiarna Lee who performed 'Remedy'.
Sarah Edmonstone also provided the foyer music before the ceremony got underway.
Senior school academic support coordinator Tanya Eastwell presented students with their folders and subject awards.
Key note speaker and former student, Ebony Creek, congratulated and offered words of wisdom to the graduates as they begin the next stage of their lives.
"Resilience and determination were essential to not giving up on your dreams," Ms Creek said, as she spoke of some of the setbacks she faced before embarking on her life-long dream of becoming a lawyer.
She also emphasised the importance of mental health, adding that seeking support was necessary for everyone in the fast paced world we live in.
A number of major awards also recognised the hard work of some dedicated students, including the David Waddell Award.
Head girl, Nastacia Tarrosa and head boy, Jake Genefini, gave impressive farewell speeches, reminiscing on the times they enjoyed as students at John Tonkin College.
Former JTC student and Mandurah mayor Rhys Williams delivered the Charge to the Class of 2019 before students walked in a procession out of the venue, met with cheers from family, staff and college sponsors.
