After countless hours of preparation, Halls Head Primary School (HHPS) specialist drama students are putting the finishing touches to their end-of-year production, Aladdin.
HHPS launched the specialist program, called SHINE, at the start of this year to extend to their students via The Arts.
Their first show, The Wizard of OZ, offered free performances for neighbouring schools.
Their end-of-year performance, Aladdin, will be taking to the big stage of Lakes Theatre to give the program's students a chance to experience a profession performance venue.
SHINE founder and director Sian Wake said the performance was a chance for the students to express themselves and perform to a sizeable local audience.
"SHINE is about producing whole performers," she said.
"As such, we expose the young actors to different performance spaces - from shows on school grounds with little facilities to professional level stages.
"We teach them that all forms of theatre are valuable."
Aladdin will be performed on Wednesday, December 18 at 6:45pm.
Tickets are $10 per adult and only $2 per child.
Interested parties can buy tickets ahead of time, which are available from Halls Head Primary School.
