Mandurah-based Mixed Martial Arts brother-and-sister duo Zeke and Skye Branson have been making waves on Western Australia's junior combat sport circuit, with the pair capping off a brilliant 2019.
Both Zeke, 11, and Skye, 9, enjoyed plenty of success across the past 12 months, not missing a single WA-based tournament while also competing interstate.
Both travelled to the Gold Coast to take on the competition at the ADCC Asia Pacific Grand Slam in March, where the siblings each came away with bronze medals in their divisions.
The event seemed to spark a run for the dynamic duo.
Skye went on to win gold at the WA State Grappling Tournament (SGT) in Perth just last month, just one week before she won the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu state titles.
Meanwhile Zeke was also able to put a few SGT gold medals to his name, but remains adamant his favourtie win came at the ADCC Perth tournament, which he dedicated to his uncle Jason.
Overall in 2019, Zeke competed in 14 tournaments to take out five golds, 3 silvers and two bronze medals, while Skye fought in 16 tournaments for seven gold, two silver and two bronze.
The pair both train out of Next Generation Mandurah, under head coach Marcus McKeever.
They've been in training for almost four years now, and recently earned their solid yellow belts.
They have plans to take on more competitions next year as they eye off big futures in MMA.
