The frightening family behind Mandurah's most haunted Halloween house has handed over an impressive cheque to a worthy charity organisation.
Loretta Westcott, who runs the Fright Factory, donated part proceeds of the cost to enter her spooky asylum to raise more than $1300 for HorsePower Murray Mandurah.
The community group help to provide development of horse riding and carriage driving skills for people living with disabilities and special needs in the region.
Volunteers at the centre currently assist about 100 participants and are often in need of donations to help fund the day-to-day operations.
Ms Westcott's family also invited the group to host a sausage sizzle at the Fright Factory on Halloween night and donated all the sausages so they could pocket the entire profit - more than $250.
HorsePower Murray Mandurah president Wayne Beardmore said the organisation was "very appreciative" of the financial boost.
"This monetary help from the generous efforts of the Westcott family opening their doors to a very scary experience helps us to subsidise fees for those who are finding it too difficult to afford to come," he said.
"My involvement with the family was when their second child came out to HorsePower Murray Mandurah. Three more of their children progressed through riding, and today we see young adults who are so different to the children who first arrived to our centre.
"Their story is replicated year after year with so many young people who attend riding and carriage driving."
Ms Westcott said, after the success of this year's inaugural Fright Factory which saw almost 400 people walk through the attraction on Halloween night alone, she was already excited to go bigger and better in 2020.
"I've already got so many ideas, it's going to be great," she said.
"Every year that we do this here from now on, people will not see the same layout twice - there will be different frights.
"We're going to start the new build hopefully in April or May so a lot earlier to give us time to do all the fine tuning."
