A pair of Mandurah Surf Life Saving Club youngsters got their surf sports seasons off to flying starts taking to the beach in Sorrento for the 2019 SunSmart Endurance Championships over the weekend.
Milly Reynolds and William Liitiaeinen both performed admirably at the event, each claiming a state medal in the process.
Milly was awarded for her fantastic display winning the under 12 female two-kilometre beach run, while William took out silver in the under 14 male four-kilometre dash.
In total, more than 350 athletes took to the beach for the championships, with the Mandurah club contributing six competitors taking on the extended courses.
