Mandurah will be treated to a unique and exciting show as part of the local weekend concert series, Hot Shore Shuffle.
Put on your dancing shoes as Fremantle's own Shangara Jive perform their Zimbabwean Afro Roots music on Sunday, November 3 at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre.
Drawing inspiration from the dynamic drumming and dance troupes in Zimbabwe, Shangara Jive's tunes are flavoured with influences from the Congo, South Africa and Senegal.
They play a variety of African music styles including kwassa kwassa, roots reggae, soka beat, jit, chimurenga and soukous using the traditional mbira (thumb piano) for a concert that is not to be missed.
Their songs are performed in Shona and English to reflect the day-to-day culture of living in Africa.
The Hot Shore Shuffle concert series is a community event that welcomes people of all ages to join in or relax and listen to some of the best multicultural talent at a regular Sunday afternoon sojourn.
The performances showcase a diversity of high-quality music and dance from around the globe right here in Mandurah.
Shangara Jive will perform at a free concert, as part of Hot Shore Shuffle, from 1-3pm on Sunday, November 3. For more information, visit the MPAC website.
