A crowd favourite at Mandurah's Critters Conservation Centre is settling into life with his new idenity after a community poll decided on it's official name.
The saltwater crocodile, who is visiting from the Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park, is a star at the wildlife centre and will now be known as Salty.
Cindy Satrio and her daughters Jemima, seven, and Judith, four, were successfully chosen to give Salty his name after making their suggestion during a visit these school holidays.
It is hoped people will be prompted to learn more about saltwater crocodiles when they of Salty's name.
Mrs Satrio said her family also thought the name suited the reptile.
"Jemima, Judith and I came up with the name after seeing the crocodile at Mandurah Forum," Cindy said.
"We thought Salty would be a really fun name for the croc to have since it is a saltwater crocodile.
"Judith in particular is an animal lover, so we don't mind travelling 45 minutes to Mandurah Forum to see the croc and visit Critters Conservation Centre."

Mandurah Forum centre manager Jacqueline McKenzie said Critters Conservation Centre had drawn interested crowds from across the Peel region, Perth and beyond.
"Critters has been a fantastic addition to Mandurah Forum and its popularity has cemented it as a long-term feature for visitors to enjoy year-round," she said.
"We're thrilled children from the community played a key role in naming Salty the crocodile and we know there are plenty of kids and kids-at-heart who are excited to meet Salty these school holidays."
