Just when you thought the school holidays couldn't get more exciting, a new weekend-long festival celebrating local music and food is set to take the Peel region by storm.
Held from October 4-6, the very first Jarrahfall Food and Folk Festival will be a family-friendly camping experience boasting an action-packed few days of entertainment.
Set in the beautiful surroundings of the forest in Dwellingup, the unique festival will act as a platform to launch the new Jarrahfall Bush Camp brand and hopes to become an annual event.
Brought to life by Bleeding Ear Music and Jarrahfall Bush Camp (formerly Dare Adventures), the school holiday event promises something for everyone.
Saturday's events will include an impressive schedule of food events and live cooking demonstrations.
There will be 15 food trucks and vendors to choose from, showcasing cuisines from around the world and handing out plenty of delicious samples.
The live music will kick off in the afternoon with an action-packed lineup including Rose Parker Trio, Justin Walshe Folk Machine, Kings & Queens, Chilali & The Chief and Mystic Rebellion.
The sounds of Ashlea Reale & the Outlaws, Nate Lansdell and much-loved local talent Matt Gresham will continue the tunes well into the night to keep audiences entertained.
Let the kids run wild all weekend long in the safe and supervised adventure camp with free activities for them to enjoy, including rock climbing, archery tag, paint ball target shooting, bouncy castles, zip lining, flying fox, commando adventure course and cubby building.
There will also be market stalls and extra entertainment for the two nights of the inaugural event.
Bleeding Ear Music founder Dave Feenstra said the idea for the festival came from a "chance meeting" with Clayton Frederick from Jarrahfall Bush Camp.
"We were having a short discussion about music, family and life in general and we talked about how restrictive the modern world is and how kids don't play outside or get to experience the things we did growing up," he said.
"Clayton is very involved with youth development and team building through the many school camps and youth programs he has hosted and we decided it would be great to put on a music festival with a very strong emphasis on families.
"Jarrahfall Food and Folk Festival will be a place where families can unplug from the day-to-day and re-connect on a camping weekend with plenty of music and food."

Mr Feenstra said it was shaping up to be an event all the organisers were very proud of.
"This may be the first time many families get to experience camping together, let alone share a music festival experience together," he said.
"Many of the artists playing often perform at venues for adults only so this is a great way for families to discover music together in a safe, family friendly, camping festival environment.
"We sold all camp allocations a month out from the festival so after this massive response, we are already planning next year's event as well as setting out dates and planning some new and exciting events for 2020."
The inaugural Jarrahfall Food and Folk Festival will be held at Jarrahfall Bush Camp in Dwellingup from Friday, October 4 to Sunday, October 6.
All camping tickets have now sold out with adult day passes still available for Saturday. For more information, or to purchase tickets, visit the Oztix website or Facebook event page.
