Sheer relief and overwhelming pride surged through the Baldivis interchange bench when the final siren echoed to end the 2019 Peel Football and Netball League grand final on Saturday.
Their 39-point victory was well and truly already in hand by then, having been signed, sealed and delivered when Callum Black found the goal at the 22-minute mark of the fourth term.
But Brumbies coach Craig Hamersley was on edge until the very end.
He and his crew had felt the sting of a remarkable Rockingham comeback earlier in the year, and it wasn't until the game was officially over that they allowed themselves their due celebrations.
"I think any of the boys who were on the bench will tell you I was still holding out until I heard that siren," he said.
"Five goals is nothing for a team like Rockingham and they'd already pegged a late comeback on us this season, so I didn't want to let up an inch until the end."
And neither did the playing group.
They fought and scrapped even in the dying stages of what was a blazing display, stopping only to celebrate the goals along the way.
But the Brumbies camp erupted when that final siren blew.
For many it was confirmation, given their side had spent the past two seasons in the league's upper echelon without being able to even appear in the grand final.
For others it was relief, knowing they'd gotten the job done against long odds.
But for all wearing Brumbies colours, it was a sensational amount of pride in what their club had achieved.
"Not many people had us pegged to win the game coming in, but we felt among ourselves that we had everything it takes," Hamersley said.
"The playing group are close, they're tough and they believe in each other, and all of those things came together on Saturday.
"It's one of our club's proudest moments, and one we'll remember for a very long time.
"I'm not sure it's sunk in yet. We're all still wrapping our heads around it."
Baldivis now enter the off-season as premiers, having won two of the league's past four grand finals.
