Local eight-ball whizzes Suzie Gibbs and Cylas Jackson are eyeing big things after picking up a string of successful results at the recent state championships held in Perth earlier this month.
Young gun Cylas picked up his third consecutive title battling it out in the under 12s division, while Suzie earned her place on the WA state team set to compete at nationals in October.
It was almost a clean sweep for the 10-year-old state champion, who went 17-1 in games across his nine matches to take out the title.
The rising star has only been competing in the sport for three years, and already holds three state championship trophies.
"It was exciting," Cylas said.
"Next year I move up to under 15s so hopefully I can beat them too."
For Suzie, it was a top-seven finish that netted her a spot on the WA women's team, as she now prepares to help them claim the crown at the eight-ball nationals.
She will also be representing Australia when she heads to Cyprus for the World Blackball Championships the following month.
"It's all a bit head-spinning, to be honest," she said.
"It's an amazing feeling to representing both WA and Australia. There's obviously heaps of nerves but I'm so excited to just get there and compete."
The duo both train out of Miss Q's Pool and Entertainment Centre on Reserve Drive, Mandurah.
