Mandurah is set to come alive with the sound of music later this month as a travelling piano makes its way around the city centre.
Painted by Peel artist Bonnie King, the beautiful musical instrument is set to become a local icon and encourage free piano play in the community.
The travelling piano's journey will start with an epic launch event from 10am-2pm on Sunday, September 22 in the Smart Street Mall.
Celebrate spring with live music from talented local students and musicians including singing, drumming, choir and, of course, piano playing.
The hope of the piano is to bring people together.

While there is plenty on offer for the music lovers, there will also be family friendly activities, chalk drawing, face painting, artisan market stalls and competitions.
Darling Deere will host a Kokedama workshop while Ahisma Bay Floral Design will teach a class on making your own fresh flower crown, however spots are limited for these activities.
There will also be a competition on the day to give the travelling piano a name with the winner to take home three free piano lessons from West Coast Music.

The idea was inspired by Shape Mandurah - a not-for-profit organisation created to activate local spaces and to help create community and culture.
Shape Mandurah volunteer Rosie Hegarty said they hoped the travelling community street piano would become iconic to Mandurah.
"The piano was donated to Shape so the concept to paint it and have it as part of the community was born," she said.
"The hope of the piano is to bring people together, whether it's talented pianists, enthusiastic amateurs and anyone in between who either wants to play, learn to play or simply appreciate live music on a traditional instrument."
After the launch, the piano will be homed at various local businesses around Mandurah to encourage free piano play in the community and give local music culture a boost.
Ms Hegarty said they would like to hear from business owners interested in hosting the instrument.
"We are open to receiving inquiries from any business in Mandurah that would like to home the piano," she said.
"The only requirement is that it must be a place where people gather like a cafe or the visitor centre for example."
