Dwellingup will come to life later this month with the 44th anniversary festival for the popular tourist attraction, the Hotham Valley Railway.
Hotham Valley Railway Festival Committee member John Cabrera said they were looking to make anniversary celebrations the best yet.
"This year we are once again having our anniversary festival in Dwellingup from 8.30am-4pm on Sunday, September 15," he said.
Mr Cabrera said the family-friendly festival would be free, however train tickets would be available for purchase prior to the event.
This year's attractions will include steam ranger and forest train services as well as a restaurant train on display.
There will also be steam machinery, steam tractors and classic and vintage cars to check out as well as showcases for locomotives and HVR membership.
Food will be available for purchase and the event will feature live music, entertainment and plenty of art and craft stalls.
The Hotham Valley Railway was born in 1974 as an idea by a small group of train enthusiasts who wanted to preserve the steam locomotives on the Pinjarra-Dwellingup railway line as the move towards diesel engines intensified.
The first steam train returned to the Hotham Valley in September 1976 and is now run almost entirely run by volunteers who donate their time and effort to preserve and expand the popular tourist attraction.

Advance booking is highly recommended with limited tickets possibly available with cash only at Dwellingup Station on the day.
