Dust off your sparkly stilettos Mandurah, because Kinky Boots The Musical is about to burst on to the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre stage.
Stomping into town later this month, the moving and powerful show will have audiences dancing in the aisle and discovering why, sometimes, the best way to fit in is to stand out.
Presented by local theatre company Stray Cats, the dazzling, sassy and uplifting smash hit musical is brought to life by director Karen Francis.
Based on a true story, the show follows Charlie Price who reluctantly inherits his father's shoe factory in North England.
Struggling to save the family business and trying to live up to his father's legacy, which is on the verge of bankruptcy, Charlie finds inspiration in the form of Lola - a fabulous entertainer with wildly exciting ideas and in need of some sturdy stilettos.
As the unlikely pair work to turn the factory around, they learn to embrace their differences and create a line of sturdy stilettos unlike anything the world has ever seen.
With a little compassion and a lot of understanding, Charlie and Lola find they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible and, in the end, their most sensational achievement is their deep friendship.
Winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Kinky Boots features a joyous 16 original songs by Cyndi Lauper and a hilarious, uplifting book by four-time Tony winner, Harvey Fierstein.
Kinky Boots will take to the stage at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre at 7.30pm on August 29, 30 and 31, with matinee performances at 2pm on August 31 and September 1.
