A 19-year-old Secret Harbour man has appeared in the Mandurah Magistrates Court charged with assaulting an elderly shopkeeper in Smart Street Mall.
Lachlan Steven Boogaard-Mitchell did not enter a plea on Friday to three charges of behaving in a disorderly manner, aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm and stealing.
The incident was alleged to have happened about 4am on June 15.
At a previous court hearing, Magistrate Anne Longden told the court the alleged assault was classified as 'aggravated' because it was on Salvatore Baldacchino, who was over the age of 60.
Mr Boogaard-Mitchell's lawyer Malcolm Ayoub told the court he had received video footage from police and a plea would be entered at the next court hearing.
Mr Boogaard-Mitchell is due to reappear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on August 30.
Co-accused Tyler Micheal Tann-Green pleaded guilty in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on July 9 to disorderly behaviour in public and destroying victim Salvatore Baldacchino's watermelon and stealing his apple.
Tann-Green has applied for a pre-sentence program assisting people with drug problems, prior to his sentencing.
He is due to reappear in court on September 3, 2019.
