The state government is continuing its investment in community-driven projects across Peel with the opening of round two of the Regional Economic Development (RED) Grants program.
The government has committed $28.8 million over five years towards the RED Grants program for projects that are set to benefit regional communities.
Up to $250,000 is available for individual projects that promote sustainable jobs, partnerships, productivity, skills and capability, as well as stimulate new investment in industry diversification.
Murray-Wellington MP Robyn Clarke said the government was committed to creating sustainable communities where people enjoy living and working.
"The funding has enabled a number of small businesses to expand and upgrade their operations, providing direct benefits to the community through the creation of new jobs and investment in long-term infrastructure," she said.
Mandurah MP David Templeman said he was excited to see what new initiatives would be funded through the grants.
"The RED Grants program has already supported a number of fantastic local projects including Mandurah Boat and Bike Hire, Mandurah Cruises, Dwellingup's Forrest Heritage Center and ManukaLife Ltd.," he said.
"This funding is a great opportunity to further diversify our local economy and stimulate local investment."
Applications for round two are now open and close on 13 September.
