This year's NAIDOC Week theme is 'Voice, Treaty, Truth' - Let's work together for a shared future.
With this in mind, Ocean Road Primary School's belonging team leader Susan Titshall created the 'ORPS Mob'.
This group of Aboriginal students hosted a whole school assembly, which they planned in collaboration with Mrs Titshall.
All students at Ocean Road Primary participated in a variety of NAIDOC activities, with the aim of students discovering and learning about our local Noongar culture.
As part of these whole-school celebrations, Mrs Titshall prepared class sets of damper ingredients along with quandong jams for each class and the ORPS Mob delivered these ingredients.
Other activities students participated in included learning about the Noongar language, listening to traditional dreamtime stories about the formation of significant landmarks in our region and creating artwork related to these stories, including creating a whole class wargyl (giant snake) painting and rock paintings.
