A 19-year-old Secret Harbour man has appeared in the Mandurah Magistrates Court charged with assaulting an elderly man in Smart Street Mall.
Lachlan Steven Boogaard-Mitchell did not enter a plea to three charges of behaving in a disorderly manner, aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm and stealing.
The incident was alleged to have happened about 4am on June 15.
Magistrate Anne Longden told the court the alleged assault was classified as 'aggravated' because it was on Salvatore Baldacchino, who was over the age of 60.
Boogaard-Mitchell's lawyer Malcolm Ayoub asked to review the video footage police have as evidence.
A 20-year-old Port Kennedy man has also been charged with behaving in a disorderly manner, stealing and damage. His court date is yet to be set.
Boogaard-Mitchell is due to reappear on August 9.
