A five-goal third quarter saw Pinjarra overcome a spirited challenge from Waroona as the two met in their annual Mental Health Game at Sir Ross McLarty Oval on Saturday.
Scores were level after the Demons kept their hosts goalless in the second term, but the Tigers found their rhythm shortly after as they went on to claim a 7.13 (55) to 3.3 (21) victory.
The visitors were off to a good start when young gun Matthew Tilbee (fresh off a stellar campaign for Peel at the 2019 Great Southern Colts Carnival) booted the first of the day, before Pinjarra youngster Nixon Purser was shown a red card.
However, the Tigers settled with goals to Jamie McNamara and Braddon Kazakoff giving them the lead at the first break.
The second term belonged to Waroona as Jordann Ness and Bailey Taylor notched the only goals to see scores tied up at half time.
But Pinjarra made their move in the third term, with Brett Milward and Mitch Brown booting two goals apiece while Riley Vidovich also got on the board.
The run proved a back-breaking one for the Demons, as they failed to register a goal in the term.
In fact neither side went on to score a major in the final term, with wet conditions making for a low-scoring affair as Pinjarra took the win.
Robert Bird and Milward were both outstanding for the Tigers, while Jack Strand and Taylor were in hot form for the Demons.
Pinjarra remains in second spot following the win, sitting pretty with an 8-2 record.
After the game both sides came together as they continued their push to combat mental illness, as part of the WA Country Football League's Think Mental Health round.
