Star Baldivis forward and Peel Football and Netball League leading goal kicker Blaine Johnson could be on the move back to the WAFL, with a potential mid-season return to South Fremantle on the cards.
The 23-year-old will suit up for the Bulldogs' reserves side as they take on Peel Thunder in Mandurah this week, while Baldivis rest through a general bye week in the PFNL.
It remains unclear if he will return to the WAFL club permanently.
Baldivis coach Craig Hamersley said he was unsure if Johnson would remain at the Brumbies.
"I caught up with Blaine earlier this week and we're aware that he's playing reserves for South Fremantle during our bye round, and he will make a decision moving forward after this weekend," he said.
"We'd obviously be very sad to see him go, he's been brilliant at our footy club this year, but at the end of the day it's what comes with being a local club.
"We encourage all of our players to chase higher levels of footy, so we'd never hold it against anyone if that's what they wanted to do."
Johnson leads the PFNL's goal kicking tally with 31 through the first nine games.
He's been an instrumental part of Baldivis' push to the top of the ladder at the halfway point of the season, with the club currently nursing a four-game win streak.
The gun forward was a star at South Fremantle before arriving at the Brumbies midway through 2018, having booted 59 goals from 23 games in the 2017 season.
