Love is in the air and The Ten Tenors want to spread it around the country.
Embarking on an Australian tour to celebrate their latest album of the world's best romantic pop songs and ballads, the talented tensome will charm their way around the country, one city at a time.
Always finding a way to move their fans with their beautiful and timeless repertoire, the recently released Love Is in The Air album is full of the most popular feel-good love songs and wedding first dance songs of all time including 'Make You Feel My Love' and 'All Of Me'.
The Ten Tenors will perform their touching tribute to the glory of love, at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre on May 31 for a special one-night-only appearance.
It's our most upbeat and fun-loving show we've had in a while so I really think our audiences can expect a good time.
- Michael Edwards
In an interview with the Mandurah Mail, band member Michael Edwards said fans could expect some some new songs as well as the classics, blockbuster rock anthems, traditional medleys and plenty of dancing.
"Our brand new show is called Love Is in The Air and as you can imagine, it is inspired by love and love songs so it's a pretty feel-good show," Edwards said.
"The entire idea was inspired by a member of the group because he was getting married and he wanted us to sing at his wedding so we did.
"It sparked the idea to do an album of love music and as a result, this album feels a bit more personal to each of the boys than maybe our previous albums.
"It's our most upbeat and fun-loving show we've had in a while so I really think our audiences can expect a good time."
On the brink of celebrating 25 years of The Ten Tenors, Edwards said it can be fun to look back on the group's successes and see how far they have grown as a group.
"It started in 1995 and it was a bit of a corporate act to begin with - Network 10 wanted 10 tenors to sing for their 10th anniversary so it was all random and for fun but then the group just went from strength to strength," he said.
"None of the current boys were in the original lineup but we've all been in it for a while now - the lineup has been the same for about 2 and a half years now and we all try our hardest to channel that original vibe."
The super group have released 15 studio albums, performed more than 1,550 corporate galas and sold more than 2.75 million concert tickets.
Their previous 2018 US tour sold out everywhere, which now takes them to an astonishing 2,400 sold out headline shows.
They have shared the stage with the likes of Lionel Richie, Willie Nelson and Christina Aguilera and have appeared extensively on US television shows including Access Hollywood and the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon.
Edwards, who has been with the Aussie music ensemble since 2015, said he can't wait to get back on the road when the latest Australian tour kicks off on May 18.
"This will be my third Australian tour and I think it's one of the best parts about it - we end up going to some really unexpected places," he said.
"We end up in these tiny little towns and places you would never normally go off the beaten track and that is one of my favourite parts about being in the group.
"When you go to those towns that are off the main trail, they are really appreciative crowds and are often some of the best shows and have some of the best energy from the audience.
"I'm pretty happy and lucky [to be in the group], I'm going to see where it takes me."
The Ten Tenors will perform their Love Is in The Air tour at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre at 7.30pm on Friday, May 31. For more information, or to purchase tickets, visit the MPAC website.
