Falcon surfing star Zali Corry was crowned the under 18 girls state champion at the WA Longboard Titles in Denmark over the weekend.
The rising star put in a stellar performance with the Denmark coastline producing pristine conditions, cruising to the victory ahead of hometown hero Ella Neunuebel.
Corry's score of 20.06 combined from her best two waves across a pair of finals was enough to best the local, who scored 14.71 herself.
The Mandurah-based up-and-comer was also on fire in the open women's category, taking out second place with a score of 21.37 behind Perth's Georgia Young (33.20).
Corry wasn't the only Peel-region local to shine at the event, with Mandurah's Ryan Egan, Rockingham's Jacob McIver and Baldivis' Lindsay Small all putting in strong performances.
Egan was fantastic on his way to claiming over 40 men's logger state championship, while also finished second in the general over 40 men's competition.
Small claimed the runner-up position in the open men's logger event, while McIver won a pair of state championships taking out first place in the under 18 boys and under 18 boys logger finals.
Following the conclusion of the WA Longboard Titles, attention now turns to the team of 33-plus WA longboarders that will compete at the Australian Surf Championships on the Tweed Coast, NSW in August.
"I'd like to congratulate our event winners, the 2019 state champions and all our amazing competitors who have participated wholeheartedly in this year's Volte Wetsuits WA Longboard Titles," Surfing WA events manager Justin Majeks said.
"Denmark certainly simulates the kind of conditions our team can expect to surf at the National Titles and it's been three really great days of longboard surfing here."
