Animal activist James Warden has pleaded not guilty in the Mandurah Magistrates Court to stealing a dead piglet and Friesian calf from two separate WA farms last year.
James Warden, 25, pleaded guilty to trespassing on a farm in Nambeelup and Hopeland between August 28-29, 2018, and at GD Pork in West Pinjarra on November 11, 2018.
But, Mr Warden pleaded not guilty to stealing a dead piglet from West Pinjarra's GD Pork piggery on September 9, 2018 and a Friesian calf worth $1500 from a Brunswick dairy farm on October 23, 2018.
Co-accused Katrina Sobianina, 25, also pleaded guilty to trespassing at the GD Pork and Hopeland piggeries, but pleaded not guilty to stealing a dead piglet from GD Pork piggery on September 9, 2018.
Sobianina's lawyer Marilyn Loveday asked Magistrate Anne Longden if her client's bail conditions, where she could not be within 100 metres of a farm, be amended and her night-time curfew be removed.
Ms Loveday said the night-time curfew is disturbing Sobianina's stepfather, who she lives with along with her mother.
Police prosecutor Tamara Read told the court the curfew should stay in place because these alleged offences were committed "under the cover of darkness".
Ms Longden agreed to amend the bail conditions so Sobianina was unable to enter or remain on any farm but refused to amend the curfew.
Ms Longden said this would be an inconvenience for Sobianina, but it would "have to be worn for the meantime".
Both Mr Warden and Ms Sobianina will reappear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on July 5 for a trial allocation date.
A 25-year-old East Perth man and a 21-year-old Yangebup woman are due to appear in Bunbury Magistrates Court on May 9.
A 36-year-old Waroona woman is due to appear in Mandurah Magistrates Court on May 17.
