Star Mandurah Magic point guard Shaun Stewart has claimed his second State Basketball League player of the week award this season following a pair of scintillating performances against Perth and Willetton over the weekend.
The smooth-shooter was at his scoring best putting up totals of 35 and 34 points in the double-header, while dishing out an average of 7.5 assists.
His astronomical figures may not have netted his team the results they wanted as the Magic went down to the Redbacks and Tigers in both games, but there's no doubt a second player of the week accolade just seven weeks into the season solidifies his claim as an early front-runner for the league's MVP award.
Despite playing in a team that's notched just two wins, Stewart has put up some incredible numbers.
He's breached the 30-point barrier in six of Mandurah's nine games so far, and sits in second on the league's points per game tally at a clip of 28.3.
Stewart's also averaged six assists per game, as he constantly looks to get teammates involved.
His last player of the week honours came in round two, after he dismantled Kalamunda for 34 points, nine assists and seven rebounds in the Magic's first victory.
The Magic will need another stunning performance from their star player this week if they're to get over the line in what looms as a daunting road trip to Geraldton.
