One of the Peel region's (and indeed the entire nation's) biggest days, Anzac Day, is just days away and once again our local RSL groups are preparing what promises to be a busy schedule of commemorations.
The Mandurah, Dawesville and Pinjarra RSL sub-branches will all be holding ceremonies to pay their respects to our war veterans in the mornings along with lunches going into the afternoon.

Mandurah
The Mandurah branch's itinerary kicks off with a 6am dawn service at the Mandurah War Memorial.
This will be followed by the traditional gunfire breakfast at 6.45am at the Mandurah Bowling and Recreation Club on the corner of Dower and Allnut Street.
Assembly for the march will be held at 9.30am on the corner of Pinjarra Road and Leslie Street, with the parade to kick off at 10.30am going over the bridge and finishing at the war memorial on the western foreshore, where the main service will be held from 11am.
Parking for the service is available at Hall Park, where members of the Mandurah SES will be directing traffic.
Following the service, veterans and members of the public are invited back to the Mandurah Bowling and Recreation Club for drinks and a game of two-up.
Pinjarra
Pinjarra's Anzac Day also kicks off with a dawn service at the Pinjarra War Memorial on Pinjarra Road.
This will be followed by a gunfire breakfast from 6.30-8am at the Pinjarra RSL sub-branch for $5 per person.
Marchers will assemble at the Edenvale car park on Murray Street from 10.30am before they form up under the supervision of the parade commander and marshalls and step off at 10.50am.
The parade will proceed along Murray Street with the salute being taken at the Pinjarra Volunteer Fire Brigade, before making their way to the war memorial
The main service will commence from there at 11am.
Following the commemorations, the RSL hall will open its doors for a sausage sizzle lunch, raffles and two-up as well as entertainment from the Perth Highland Pipe Band.

Dawesville
Dawesville's dawn service will be held at the Dawesville War Memorial on Estuary Drive, with proceedings teeing off at 6am.
A gunfire breakfast will be held at the Port Bouvard Recreation and Sporting Club located at 1 Thisbe Drive from 7am.
Parking for the dawn service is available at the boat ramp on Estuary Road while parking for the gunfire breakfast is available at the Port Bouvard Recreation and Sporting Club.
Anzac Day sports
Sporting events and Anzac Day go hand-in-hand and Mandurah has plenty on offer.
Round three of the Peel Football and Netball League's netball sector kicks off on the day, with Mandurah taking on South Mandurah at the Falcon oval courts.
The open division start at 9.30am followed by the league at 11am, reserves at 12.30pm and under 20's who play at 2.30pm.
The two clubs will also square off on the footy field on the day, with the Mustangs and Falcons to play at Falcon Oval at 4.30pm, while Halls Head takes on Baldivis at Spartan Stadium from 5.15pm.
