Mandurah's western foreshore was jam packed with family fun activities on Saturday, for the city's 2019 Youth Jam.
The event forms part of Youth Week WA and is designed to celebrate local young people aged 11-25 years old.
A live DJ, food trucks, archery tag, skate and scooter competitions, game vaults and professional demonstrations and plenty of giveaways were on offer for attendees.
Youth Week WA was officially launched by Minister for Youth Peter Tinley and Mayor Rhys Williams at the event.
Youth Week WA is a state-wide annual event to celebrate sustainable growth and encourage young people and the broader community to recognise the contributions that young people make to the communities across WA.
City of Mandurah mayor Rhys Williams said recognising the involvement of young people in our local community is extremely important.
"Every week I have the opportunity to interact with amazing young people doing outstanding things across Mandurah and Youth Week gives us a reason to celebrate and recognise that contribution. I'm really proud of the contribution that our young people are making, not just as leaders of the future, but leaders right now," Mr Williams said
This year's theme is "Nurture the Now" and was created to encourage the potential for young people to have a positive impact at this stage in their lives.
The City of Mandurah partnered with Headspace Mandurah, Mission Australia Reconnect, Streetnet Youth Services, Peel Youth Services and Passages Youth Engagement Hub to make the event possible.
